Various methods for a perfect result

A number of methods can be applied to produce components from fibre-reinforced plastics – for example:

Hand lay-ups

The simplest method for producing fibre-reinforced components: It is suitable for small production runs and prototypes and also for making large-sized components – such as boat hulls. The tools are simple, cheap and as a rule one-part form tools. This method is on the other hand highly wage intensive because in hand lay-ups

the reinforcing layers are applied manually and impregnated with resin.

Vacuum compaction method

As in the hand lay-up method, a laminate is built up in a one-part mould. The entire mould is then evacuated. The atmospheric pressure compresses of the laminate and the surrounding vacuum results in further degassing.
